ACT Basics

Join the waitlist for Matt Boone’s upcoming on-demand course – Opening for enrollment later this year.

ACT Basics is an online, on-demand course that provides an intellectual and experiential introduction to the acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) model. ACT forgoes the usual emphasis of mental health treatments – feeling better – in favor of something more vital: building a meaningful life.

Starting from the premise that physical and emotional pain is a normal part of living, ACT doesn’t endeavor to make the pain go away. Instead, it focuses on increasing people’s psychological flexibility: the ability to mindfully encounter thoughts and feelings without needless struggle, and to act effectively in the service of what matters.

Filmed over a live, two-day workshop, this course teaches you the fundamentals of the ACT model and the 6 processes of psychological flexibility through a mix of video instruction, experiential exercises, and “real plays” — unscripted conversations about real-life scenarios.
