Cheri A. Levinson, PhD, is a Professor in the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at the University of Louisville and Department of Pediatrics and Director of the Eating Anxiety Treatment (EAT) Laboratory. She is a clinical psychologist and a leading figure in the development of personalized, data-driven treatment for eating disorders. Dr. Levinson developed Evidence-Based Personalized Treatment for Eating Disorders (EBPT-ED), which uses idiographic (one-person) network analysis to identify and target the specific symptoms maintaining an individual’s eating disorder. Her research applies idiographic methods, precision medicine, and digital tools to improve outcomes for patients who do not respond to standard protocols. She has served as Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator on numerous federally funded clinical trials supported by the National Institute of Mental Health, the Department of Defense, and other organizations, including some of the largest personalized eating disorder treatment trials conducted to date. Dr. Levinson has mentored numerous early-career scientists and clinicians, has published extensively in the eating disorders and clinical science literature, and is co-author of the forthcoming personalized recovery workbook.
