Beate Ebert, PhD

Beate is a Clinical Psychologist and Licensed Psychotherapist (CBT) in Private Practice in Germany. Since her first workshop with Steve Hayes in 2006 in London she works with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), with different kinds of clients from 16 to 80 years old and with couples.

Since 2014 she is acknowledged as an ACBS Peer Reviewed Trainer. She is a founding member of the German speaking ACBS Chapter, and served on the board for several years, for one year as the first chairperson.

In 2010 Beate started the non-profit “commit and act e.V.” (CAA-Germany) with her husband and friends, to bring psychosocial support to people in areas of conflict, mainly to Sierra Leone in West Africa. By now, CAA is also a registered non-profit organization in Sierra Leone (CAF-SL), known for its ACT- and Prosocial trainings, violence prevention work and shelters for girls who have been victims of gender based violence.

Beate has been awarded in 2015 by the Bo District Ebola Task Force for outstanding leadership in fighting the Ebola epidemic. She received the Agenda 21 Award of her hometown Aschaffenburg in 2015, and she has been awarded as an ACBS Fellow in 2017.

She has been presenting nationally and internationally and is part of different publications about her work in Sierra Leone or as an ACT therapist.
