with Jessica Borushok, PhD

All too often, when assessing for therapy goals our clients will mention some generic health behavior change: I want to lose weight or eat healthier or drink less caffeine or sleep better. But when it comes to actually implementing these changes, there is such a strong learning history of momentary movement then falling back into old patterns that progress becomes a struggle and change comes with a relational frame of guilt, self-flagellation, and defeat. ACT moves us closer to an end to the struggle. Join Dr. Borusok to learn how to create a context for change: an opportunity to hold lightly the memories of decades of attempts and plethora of voices that say change is not possible.

Learning Objectives

  1. Implement values related to health behavior goals to enhance commitment to change.
  2. Discuss how to broaden clients’ repertoire of health behaviors to increase the likelihood of successful first steps into change.
  3. Conceptualize processes in multiple case examples across a variety of health behavior change goals.

This training is worth 2 CE credit hours if attended live. While we can only provide CE to those who are present  i.e. logged in  for live presentation(s), all Praxis webinars are recorded for later viewing. Registrants may then access these recordings at any time for up to six months from the conclusion of the training to which they pertain.
